1972 gauge cluster removal

Ok wanted to take out my gauge cluster last night to clean it up, have several questions for you all, what should i disconnect from cluster.

1) I know speedo cable, (that leads to another question, it was not tight on the speedometer, I though the camaro transmission was making the speedo off by 40 MPH (to the fast) could it have been that cable? cant test untill cluster put back in.) and i see the plug near the top how do I take that off?

2) what about copper oil line, anything to be carefull with there? is there anything i have missed?

3) how do i get the black paint off and turn it all silver like i see some of you all have?

thanks for all your wisdom!
