Can someone help Im new at this game - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have bought a 72 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 to restore, it needs alot of help Body wise and needs a tranny . I was wondering if this would work. I came across a good 69 2 wheel drive good body,good motor, good tranny, I was wondering if I could swap the stuff off the 69 and put it on the 72 to make a good truck. Will there be alot of modifications to do this? Is this a good Idea or a bad Idea? any help would be appericiated. Thanks

By the way they are both automatics I dont know if that means anything.
