Here's what I've done with mine. With the chrome with black wheel well trim, the black fades out. A $3.00 wide tipped paint pen from your local craft store will repaint the black in . Simply draw it on. Took 10 minutes for all four. Be sure and get the pens / markers that you shake. Will also work on the black parts on your emblems. On my tailgate I have the big aluminum piece. I repainted the black border a couple of years ago. It's faded again. Too wide for a paint pen. I plan on doing it again with black out tape. About $8.00 from parts house.
