Smile Feeling nostalgic >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well after seeing the post on M/T valve covers, I remembered I had a set of them behind my shed that have been in the weather for the past at least 10 years. I bought them when my youngest daughter was 3 and she's 30 now. So I dug them out and just finished putting a new coat of "Krinkle Black" paint on them, and my old K&N airfilter top.
When I paint Krinkle or wrinkle paint, I clean the item up real good and put it in the oven and heat to about 175 degrees. Then I shoot a coat of paint on them, I do that three more times, then put them in the oven again at 200 degrees. (this stinks, real bad, make sure Momma is gone ) I then "Cure" the paint until it's dry to the touch, Then pull them out and before they cool, Scrape the paint off of the high spots where you don't want it. ( butter knife works great) And finally run some sand paper over the spots you removed the paint from, rough to smooth for that satin finish.
These were originally polished, but the Elcamino they were on was hit broadside, breaking the battery and spraying battery acid all over them, they were permanently "etched" So paint was the only way to go.
