need some advice...again!

i have mostly everthing disconnected in order to pull the motor. I want to pull the motor and saginaw three speed together. I have two questions:

1. Has anyone pulled both the motor and trans all in one shot before? is it safe to remove this way?

2. Does the drive shaft slip out from the trans when pulling the motor forward or will I need to disconect th U joints? (see pics)
