Frame Swap advice needed

I have a 76 stepside 4x4 with a (SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!) cracked frame by the steering box. The POS PO tried to fix it and did much more harm than good. Now I need advice and help making this decision. What I am trying to figure out now is, is it worth pulling everything off the frame and swapping onto a new frame that i've already found? Or would I be better off taking the lift and stuff off and putting it under another truck with a blown motor or something that I can get for cheap?

I have never had to do a swap like this before and I honestly have no idea on the difficulty of this task but can only assume it wont be easy.
