Question What will it take

As soon as my 68 is done, shooting for Jan Feb 08,I want to try a little something different for me any way.
I have 1990 Chevy Astro van with a 4.3 and and a 700r that I have owned since new. Was going to sell it but found the resale on these things are extremely low.
So here is my thought. I could pull the engine and seats and steering A/C lots of parts and put into a truck. Maybe a 47-54 I know there is another board for these years, but there are more guys here and I do have a 68
Anyway what will it take to transplant the engine? Drive shaft is open older trucks are closed right?
What about the TBI injection
Is there a different type of fuel delivery as in pressure?
Any ideas?
