383 stroker,perfect for 67-72's?

Is the 383 stroker the perfect motor for our trucks? Does it replace the Big Block, and the other Small Block versions? With cam, and head options, as well as great rotating assemblys, is the block from a 350 sb all we need to make the perfect engine? I know there is more HP, and torque to be made with the Big Blocks, but when looking at performance, with mileage, is the "STROKER" all we need?
