Original Restoration Data
Although this was posted at this forum a while back, it was before my time here. I stumbled over this information at the Stovebolt Forums and thought it was interesting. Seems to have not been posted here for a few years.
If you want to know the original spec's that your truck came with, Chevrolet will send you free of charge a "Restoration Kit". To request the "kit" from Chevrolet, have your Vehicle Identification Number and model year. By Phone Call the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center, 1-800-222-1020. Select # 4 for customer service. Then # 4 again for "other questions." Follow the prompts When you get to talk to a real person, ask for the "Restoration Kit" By Mail Send off a request (Don't forget your VIN and model year!) to: Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center Chevrolet Motor Division, General Motors Corporation P. O. Box 7047 Troy, Michigan 48007-7047 An old post here indicated you could go to www.chevrolet.com, click onto the "contact us" tab, and request it there. But the older models are available to select and the VIN does not fit. If it is read by a real person on the other end it might not matter though. Sorry if this is redundant posting to some, but to us newer guys it might be handy... Quinn
