Newbe from Utah
Just joined and thought I would say hi. I am currently in the middle of my project - a 69 C10 lwb that has 95000 original miles on it. I picked this classic up for 100.00. I work at a high school and the lady that owned the truck wanted to donate it to the school, but I asked if she would sell it to me instead. It wasn't running and was taking up space in the road in front of her house. She was happy to have it gone. The body is straight everywhere with just a little rust in the rockers and a couple of spots on the cab floor and the headliner. I am in the process right now of removing the cancer. The engine is a 307 and it has the 3 speed manual transmission. I have already rebuilt the engine with an edelbrock performance cam, intake, and carb. It has roller rockers and headers. I have changed the tree shift to a floor shift. It has turbo mufflers with an H pipe. Right now all the body panels are off. The only part still attached to the frame is the cab and that will come off as soon as I finish replacing the rusted areas. I plan to change the front drums to disc with a power booster and lower it using the 2 1/2 drop spindles and drop springs in the back. I would like to do an electric fan conversion, and also want to move the gas tank out of the cab. It needs a new wood bed, wheels and tires and a bunch of little things. This site has already been a big help in a few areas. Any ideas and things to look out for would be greatly appreciated. This is my first attempt at a restoration!
