Hello, group. New guy here

Hello to any other 68'rs here
Hi group, my name is Jerry. I've been the proud owner of a 1968 C10 Stepside since July '02. Bought it in bad shape. It hasn't run yet, and I did not want to commit to it until I had the time to start at square one. Now I am there. Frame is sandblasted and ready for POR-15.
Originally I wanted to do the standard 2.5" drop in the front and a little in the rear too, but now that every truck of similar year I see has that, stock ride height appeals to me more now. My as-of-yet very loosely assembled plan is to use this mainly as a straight line drag racing truck starting small with a 383 and stock frame. No air, no heater, no blower motor, vents or ductwork behind the dash. Manually shifted 4 speed. I'm an old school racing fan. I like to bang through the gears myself down the dragstrip.
I have a couple questions for anyone and everyone in here, but since this section seems to be just the meet and greet, I'll reserve those questions for the FAQ section.
