Right front brake line hose on '73, how the ff...

The Haynes manual sucks on this aspect. It doesn't tell me anything helpful. How the hell do you get the U-clip off? It seems improbable to get a wrench or anything in there, and I'm not sure if it pries off. Dumb question, but I don't want to mess anything up.

What's the right way to go about this?
