Got the 70's new motor running tonite!

Got it running tonite about 8pm....after cam break in I drove it around for a few minutes. 'Bout the smoothest swap and the smoothest running 350 I have ever driven!

Sounds completely different in tone than the motor it replaced. We kept the same block but I got better heads for it and I can tell by the sound we're breathing a little better.

Going to go on a maiden run tomorrow to get a few stocking stuffers for the wife....sure feels good to have the old boy running again...now I gotta come up with a new name for it since I'll be painting it Charcoal color soon.

I swapped the stock 62 amp alt for a 1987 Silverado 93amp 1-wire internally regulated alt. We jumped a couple of wires and we were done!

All in all this was the easiest and least touble I have ever had swapping motors. Anyway, the motor pics are up on page four...more photos tomorrow night!

The Motor Swap
