Fuel sender question
Gas gauge quit working 6 mo. ago.
Pulled the fuel sender to look in the tank to see if I had water at the bottom (had carb rebuilt, carb guy told me to check the tank, powdery, crumbly crap in the carb indicated water in the tank to him). The thin, flat, blue/black piece of metal about 3/16" wide, 6" long on the sender was broken where it connects at the top. Stuck it back where it belongs and put the sender back in the tank and now my gauge works! (until I hit the first bump) question: can I solder that piece back or is it irrepairable? If I need a new sender, where's the best place to get one? (not the cheapest, the best....don't want to mess with it again). TIA
