Talk About A Sleeper
-
Bought this truck today and I think it qualifies as a sleeper... Rebuilt motor & carb, new brake shoes and cylinders, new shocks, new battery, radiator boiled & tested & fuel tank professionally cleaned inside & coated. It also has 8" ralleys and new BF Goodrich tires. Everything works except the fuel gauge and the PO said that was because there was no float attached to the arm. He put it back together that way because he couldn't find one. The owner had it on craigslist and board member JDL PM'd me to let me know about it. It was only 17 miles from me. When he first listed it he was asking $2495. Just before I left for Texas he was down to $2195 and when I came back from Texas a week later it was listed for $1995. I finally went and looked at it and ended up buying it for $1500. It needs rockers, cab corners and has some rust in the cowl area. I may just end up swapping the cab out. The bedsides and tailgate are pretty nice but the bed floor has some rust holes. Right now I'm just going to drive it. It runs pretty strong..... (drives good too) LockDoc
