Buddy bucket question..

I have buddy buckets in my 72...I also have a factory original console in the same parchment color I would rather have in there. Is it possible to take the center seat out and mount the console in there? or do I have to have bucket seats without the center bracket to have a console? or do I have to rig something up to mount the console to the center bars the buddy bucket os mounted to. any ideas? all help much appreciated. Oh, and are the buddy buckets rare? or are they more common. thanks in advance!
