I Like Shiny Things, Coated intake/Headers
I thought I would show some pics of my freshly coated headers, intake & water neck.
The water neck is a stock gm unit, intake is an Edelbrock RPM and the headers who knows. These are coated with a product called Armor Coat at Aesthetic Finishers in Piqua Ohio. The finish is good to 1350 degrees, it is a ceramic based product. I like the fact that it is supposed to reduce under hood temperatures. The heat shield properties should help reduce the intake temp since the coat everything inside and out, top and bottom. I did learn one lesson. The smoother the base finish of your product the smoother the resulting coating. I had no idea the headers had any pitting. Well I can see the pits now. They can also do the headers in black which would hide the pits better. All in all I am very happy with the results, it should add a nice bit of shiny under my hood
