Three on the tree problems

There’s a guy at work that has a truck 81 step side with a 3 speed column shift. It has a steering wheel locking device that required it to be in reverse to lock the wheel prior to removing the key. He lent out his truck to only get it back destroyed. Is this a special column shift? Or is it like all 3 on the tree shifters?
He wants to replace the column or at least fix it. Are there replacement parts? Anyone had this problem?
