Figured I'd start a new thread for you so we don't get buried in the one about paint jobs.
Lowering depends on your tastes and habits. I lowered mine 3/4 first, got used to it, and then dropped it down to 6/8. Now I wish I had airbags. Mine rides just fine (spindles & coils in the front, flip kit & hanger in the back), but bags would make it smoother than stock. Any idea on what wheels & tires you want?
For a nice lowered ride that's not too low, get 2" spindles and 1 or 2" drop coils for the front and a flip kit in the back, that will sit you down about 4/6. It will look mean and get you over speedbumps.
