need cam advice

Hi guys, i need some advice on choosing a cam for my truck. I have a mostly stock 350 with and edlebrock intake and 600cfm carb (will be upgrading to a 750), headers with 3in piping and flows dumped before the axle, and an hei distributor. I'm looking for something that makes good power between 1000-4000rpm, which i know doesnt narrow the results any. I just want something with some extra ooomph. Also i was told to go with a roller cam, but from reading around it seems expensive and complicated, whats your take. Been looking to get a kit with springs and lifters id figured that would be best. Im trying not to spend more than $400. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
