Cheyenne ID

I've searched this site, but can't find an answer. This weekend I might be going to look at a '71 Cheyenne. The price seems a little "too good" for this model. I've seen a picture of it, and it appears to be missing the trim along the bottom of it. Which leads me to my question. Does the VIN state if a truck is a Cheyenne? I know it seems a dumb question. I know about the wood grain trim. But I just want to know if there are any tell-tell signs to look for in case the option sticker is missing from the glove box. I want to make sure that this truck is really a Cheyenne. Any help would be appreciated.
