Question Problem with gas gauge...

I'm not sure exactly what is going on with my gas gauge, but when I fill it up it goes WAY past full and just stays there till my tank gets emptier, I don't even wanna risk it going past half way. The last time I filled it up at half way I was able to get 20 gallons in there... Running on empty . I'm glad I filled up when I did.

Does anyone know what is the problem here? Any ideas? Could it be a bad connection or is something knocked loose or out of "position"? I would like to get this fixed soon since I'm going to start driving more aka: "getting my lisence"

Thanks in advance,

Jared
