New springs too high

I took the 40 year old coils out of the front end of my 66 and put in some CPP 1 inch drop springs. I knew it would raise it. Its now about 1 1/4" higher than it was with the sagging old springs. I needed to tear into the front spindles to see what year they came from, it has discs up front. I'll order some dropped spindles on monday. How much should I expect the new springs to settle? I might end up cutting them down if they wont get the front end down enough.

Other than smacking my thumb with a hammer knocking the ball joints loose, I was pleased to see everything in the front end in great shape. It was changed over to the 73 and up components. Now I know.

Will the new spring drop a little?
