Question Return Line Through Fuel Gauge Unit?

It seems to me, I read about someone who used the vapor line fitting on the fuel sending unit for a retun line on a TBI conversion. Right now, I have a '69 with the single feed line fitting on the fuel level float unit. I need to replace that unit and was thinking of getting one for the later models that have the vapor line fitting.

I'm not doing a TBI conversion right now, but since I'm looking ahead to when I do so I'd need to just cap off the line for a time. Any problems there?

Thanks.
