First Drive. NON Power Front Disc Brake Setup

I know a few guys have been waiting on a report on how my NON booster setup worked out.

here's the equipment
69 Chevrolet C10, non power drum brakes at all corners
71 Chevrolet master cylinder
CPP PV-1 proportioning valve
McGaughy's disc brake/spindle kit
NO booster

went to get the frontend realigned today. lots of shim adjustments, but they got within specs. then I took the ol' girl out for a quick shakedown run.

the pedal feel was the same as before with non power drums, stiff but manageable. stops much quicker from highway speeds (60-65 mph). emergency braking only brought a bit of scrub from the rear, but no where near the amount as I had before. the proportioning valving seems to right on the money.

All in all, the setup works and I'm happy with it!
