Sending unit.
my 72's gas gauge wasnt working when i bought the truck, so i sent it 2 the shop fer da inspection, and had them look. the mechanic said i needs a new sending unit, so i get a new one, stuff it in, and voila, it doesnt work right. the gauge, even when the tank is stuffed full, sticks right at 1/4 tank. the gauge satys there until the level in the tank is down past 1/4, and its functions normally past there till empty. i ripped the tank apart again, and found that the sending unit float is definelty not hung up on anything. so, what gives? anybody got ideas?
