And so it begins....my 67 C10 SWB money pit
I've been a member of this site for awhile now and have always wanted a 67-72 C10, but it wasn't until last month that I found what I was looking for. I bought a 67 C10 SWB farm truck that has lived it's whole life here in the desert. It's pretty well optioned for a 67: CST, bucket seats, 327 with TH400, push button radio, hubcaps, wood bed, power steering, large rear window, gauge package (but no tach), factory A/C, speed warning indicator...
I found it on craigslist during my lunch break and jumped in my truck to go look at it. The truck looks completely unmolested so I was convinced it was the stock engine and transmission, but when I went to look at it, the block had been decked at some point, so the stamp pad was blank. I was a little disappointed, but the truck is almost completely rust free so I had to buy it. The only rust is a spot on the passenger's floor board from a leaky heater core. While I stood there looking at the truck the guy got 4 more calls on it so I decided it wasn't worth haggling the price, so I gave the guy $3900 for the truck, which I knew was a good deal. The wood bed is rotted out and there are a few dents in it, but still well worth the money in my mind. Here are a few pictures of the truck. The last 2 pictures show a dent on the driver's side cab and door, which worries me the most. I was hoping not to have to replace any sheetmetal, but I don't see how I can repair it...
