Motor Mounts truck-vs car

All of these posts about engine swaps and motor mounts made me go take a look at my setup. What I discovered was that it appears the PO modified the passenger side mount so the engine is shifted slightly to the driver side.

I'm not sure why he would do this? The only thing I could think of is that the 283 in my truck came from a passenegr car, so I was told. Is the engine side part of the mount different from a car -vs- a truck on an early 283? If it is shorter he may have bolted up the driver side then modified the passenger side to make it work.

Any thoughts?
