Fng Here!!!

So in the near future I'll be getting a 93 Chevy ex cab 4x4 with 60,000 original miles. Yes, i know they're right cause its my grandfathers. I was looking at the edelbrock complete top end kits. My question is; would this be a safe and good thing to do? I'm pretty sure that it would be ok sense the miles are so low and there has been no mods of any kind to the truck.

Another one is; has anyone bolted one of these kits on? What was the seat of the pants HP feel?

And lastly; The 700r4 is a great trans, but not sure it would hold up. The kits claim a 400+ hp and torque rating should i just get a good shift kit installed or a converter too?

Thanks in advance.
