brake pedal ratio

I just read and article that said that some car manufacturers put different brake pedals in there vehicles depending on whether it was a power brake or manual brake vehicle, meaning that each one had a different pedal ratio (which affects braking) the article used the early must*ng as an example. does anyone know if this is the case for our trucks? just thinking about all those guys that have switched over to power for safty reasons, or would it be a mechanical advantage for the power guys to switch over to a manual pedal from what the article says.
