rebuilding hydroboost M/C? (pics)

I picked up a complete hydroboost system out of a 80's diesel suburban with the pump and M/C.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic:


I paid 75 bucks for it. My question is, how can I tell if the MC is still in operable condition? If it isnt, is there a way to rebuild them? Hopefully I wasnt overzealous in picking this up - it was a christmas present from my folks =P



I am going to hydroboost to correct this:

The PB booster is just barely above the driver side valve cover (this is what happeneds when you use 73+ SBC frame towers on a 72). I have since bought the correct 72 only towers which will help a lot, but I still want to install the hydroboost set up.

I appreciate the help!
