Correct. I don't know what you mean by 'hang down' though, they bolt to the crossmember and frame just like the 67-72 mounts. Basically at a 45* angle like this: ]\_

Nope. I tried that and they contact at the first primary on both sides.

The mounts can be had from any JY for basically nothing, so you come out better in the end, with a modern clamshell mount and nice, cheap headers...
