88-98 chevy question. (I know its in the wrong place)

So i posted this question in the right place with little to no response. Sorry if this pisses some off you off. Im going to buy my granfathers 93 chevy ex cab z71 soon. its got 60,000 original miles, 350 with a 460l. I was thinkin about throwing on a full edelebrock top end kit, cam , lifters, heads, intake. Its advertised to bring total HP and TRQU to just over 400. I figured the bottom is just gettin "broke in" and my grandpa dont drive over 60. Would this be a good idea? I've heard dont put a new top end on a used bottom. I can see this if the block has hard miles, or high miles. But all this has had is some garbage cans and pruning leftovers its whole life. What do ya think?
