gas tank boil? filter? opinion

The truck has been sitting for 2 or 3 years. I just put a new engine in it. I put a filter before and after the fuel pump and ran 5 gallons thru it. Engine runs good.
The filter before the pump collected dirt. I want to take it off because its over the exhaust and I heard it could cause a vapor lock situation. I'm wondering if it collected all the dirt in the tank. Should I take the tank out and get it cleaned and boiled? Is the quadrejet filter enough?
