Cool FF 14 bolt brake conv. question

I am getting the parts together to do a rear brake conv. on a '74 3/4 ton FF 14 bolt 10.5 Corp rearend and will be adding an Eaton Posi as well as new 3.73 gears. All of this is happening on my 1971 3/4 burban.
Now I am having someone else do the Posi and gear change, don't have the experence to not fubar the job...but I want to do the brakes myself. The question is, will I have to pop the diff. cover to release the axles on this rearend or will they release when I unbolt and and remove the large hub units and drums? The answer will help determine which will get done first.
