Question Newbie with lift and drivetrain questions...

Hey,

I bought a '84 jimmy full size. It had a 6.2 diesel but now it's a 305 with a 4 speed tranny with overdrive. No idea on the transfer case. The truck sits on 35's. The transfer case grinds now, tranny slips. I was looking for a good set up to run 38's. I 'm going to rebuild the 305, I have no idea on mods for it, it has a edelbroke 650 carb and that's about it. So any input on that would be great! lol. For the tranny, I think it might be a 700r?, going to rebuild, put in a shift kit and tranny cooler. The transfer case well... I have no idea lol. Re-gear to 4.56?. Also I'm going to get new drive shafts. So... Any input on anything I mentioned would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah... The steering grinds too, looks to be just a gear box connected to the pitman arm. So that would need to be upgraded too.

Thanks,
JR
