Fuel Tank Redux...

Hey guys-so this is a follow-up post to when I replaced my Fuel tank way back in February. I had been trying to find a place to get rid of it. Without going into the "hows" and "whys" I finally am getting the tank scrapped, but before I did, I just had to see what was causing all that rust in my fuel lines.

A quick refresher in case no one remembers. I had a shop do some restore work (I say "some" because this problem was supposed to be job #1 to fix), but I had lots of rust in my fuel line after getting it back from them. Long story short (aka a new fuel tank/sending unit) all was well. Anyway, fast forward to yesterday...

So I decide to get my Black and Decker NaviGator (very handy tool BTW) and cut open the belly of the beast because I don't believe it was just the old rusty sending unit causing so much havoc...

Guess what I find?

- An old Gas cap somehow pushed INTO the tank
- The nozzle (yes, you heard right) of either an old filling station pump or possibly some sort of industrial fuel refilling nozzle....

The funny part was that the gas cap was still nicely chromed in a few spots LOL

Anyhow, enjoy!
