WIW - 69 LWB / Bagged / New Paint / 68 Clip / 283/400

First, I'm not looking to sell my truck. However, everything must have a price tag IMO. With the summer season coming, I'll be driving it daily again, and will also be hitting a few shows around town as well. And if this year is anything like last, i'll get the question many times, "Is it for sale?".

I always come back with "everything has its price". So i'm curious, what do you guys think is a good to high price for my truck? there are TONS of details in my build thread, but the high level is this. It started life as a 69 lwb 3/4 ton. the PO converted to 1/2 ton and added disk brakes. the engine is a great running 283 backed by a turbo 400. the gears are factory, and are highway gears. when the speedo says 40mph, you're doing 55mph. it's safe to say that you aren't doing burn outs in this truck.

anyways, since i've owned it, i've bagged it all the way around. RE7's, vlair compressor and a 3 gallon tank. 3/8 lines and valves and all of the gauges. it does FBSS.

regarding the body work. the truck is 98% solid. the PO did the rockers 10 years ago, and i had the cab corners done. all trim has been shaved. the door handles, gas filler, antenna, stake holes and roof seem have all been shaved. if i were to rate the body work for all of these, i'd give it an 8 out of 10. I did it all (minus the cab corners), so i know that there is only a skim coat of filler in any one spot of the truck. everything was done with metal getting welded in, not that epoxy crap. it also has door poppers via an autoloc kit. i do plan to have a couple "tricks" up my sleeve regarding the 8 channel remote an my air bags.

Paint: we painted the truck last weekend. Monza Red is the color. it was used on vettes in 69 and 70. it's the high end sherwin williams paint and clear, so it should last quite some time. the paint job is not perfect. there's orange peel. however, i have not color sanded it yet, so it's hard to say how the final look is going to be.

IMO, i'd call this a 10 foot truck. from 10" away, you're not gonna see any flaws in the paint/body work. however, some people say i'm picky and critical over my work.

the clip: i put a 68 clip on it this spring. the clip is solid. the core support was repaired with new metal under the batt box, and all of the chrome is new from LMC. i did the frizzle fry fender mod, but have not done the inners yet. so there are no inners right now.

interior: the interior was also done by the PO, but it needs a few things. door panels, new non faded carpet (the carpet is good and was replaced 10 years ago, but it is fading). the bench seat has been recovered in tweed, and personally, i really like it. the dash is not cut, but has an after market radio. no A/C. wiring is all clean and tucked under the dash.

engine: 283/400. we pulled it and gave it a gasket set last month. based on what the PO said, it has about 35k on the rebuild now. we also threw some chrome at it. it's a 2bbl setup with headman ceramic coated shorty headers. 3" exhaust to the t arm cross member, then into flowmasters, then down to 2.5" pipe going to the back bumper. so yeah, it's bagged, has a gas tank, air compressor and air tank, yet still has tail pipes. I have to give my uncle credit for that exhaust work

oh yeah, it has a roll pan in back. welded in, no seams. It also has an in frame gas tank. i need to finish the filler neck though. the bed floor is wood, and needs replaced. i cut a hole for the pumpkin, and a hole for the gas filler.

wheels: 15" steelies with baby moons and rings.

man, i sure can ramble on about this truck. i think you see i've grown attached to it, but i'm realistic that if someone gave me the right coin, it will go, and a new project will come in.

I'm confident in saying i'm right side up in this project, and we'll leave it at that. so i'm not worried about getting back what i've put into it.

so, what do you guys think?

here's a pic from this weekend. more pics can be found in my build thread.
