Questions From The New Guy.

Just an introduction and a couple of questions if ya' don't mind.

I'm Jimmy Mac. My main point of interest is HD choppers. But as long as I can weld, cut and grind I'm usually a campy hamper.

I've got a '68 GMC 3/4 ton long bad, that cought on fire last summer, and that wasn't such a bad thing. It's forcing me to do some needed modifications.

My plans are as follows.
Replace the entire drive train w/ latem model trans with overdrive, big block, duel rearend/bed.

This truck will be used for hauling a 5th wheel full of bikes and long trips to shows.

On to the questions...

#1) Has anyone here ever replaced their early model long bed and rearend w/ a late model Duel-wheel and late model bed?
If so, how was the match-up?

#2) There seems to be a billion aftermarket motors out there. Were looking for torque and long-haul reliability in a motor/trans/rearend.

Suggestions?

Thanks a truckload!
