Bagged the 68' - lower arm questions - 73+ swap, modifying arms

Like many others it seems my front bags rub the lower arms after cutting the SD cups. No matter the reasons I am looking at getting another set of lower arms (either stock or 73+) to cut the stock "pocket" and weld in some tubing. This will stop the rubbing and get a little more drop since the rear is lower than the front.

I have done some searching and have learned that the 73+ arms will work, but am still confused about the exact details (ball joints, different bushings etc). I am running stock spindles and drums, and only want to change lower arms, nothing else.

So far I have found the threads below to be the most helpful

I have a line on some 73+ arms so considering getting those and modifying them. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
