Newbie - 56 Short Box

Hello all,

Just found this site and looks like a good resource for me as I am rounding up all of my parts for my '56 shortbox. If all goes according to plan, here is the list of what I have for it:

- Decent body, short window, needs a couple of patches (and the shag carpet pulled out of the floor!!!)

-'78 Trans Am clip, update everything to good as new.

- '64 327 completely rebuilt with 2.02 camel humps, Weiand 4x2 intake with 4 holley 2BBl, Cal custom pan and Corvette valve covers. Still assembling it but I am going for the old school cool look with some modern upgrades (pertronix ignition, etc.)

- Turbo 400 rebuilt with a 2K stall, shift kit.

- 8.8 rear end (I know, I know, it's a Ford but it has EVERYTHING on it already, and is bullet proof too) from an Explorer, disc brakes, 3:73, Limited Slip, ready to go!

- Torque Thrust II's - 18x8's and 20x12's with Micky Thompson rubber wrapped around them. May have to tub the rear a little but I will order a custom offset.

- Paint - Viper Red exterior, White engine bay and interior.

- Interior will be late 50's tuck and roll, white with black insert.

That is about it. I have everything I need, except a new welder and the space in the garage (kids have all the trikes and strollers on my side for the summer, but I will tow it home this fall when it gets cold and at least get the suspension and cab done by next spring. Then save for paint, interior, etc. for the next winter.

My goal is to be in the road in 2 years, so my then 5 and 3 year old can cruise with me!
