Stick with Muncie 4 speed or switch to TH350?

Hey,

Well my 4 speed Muncie is leaking out of its front and rear seals. I am not equipped to do it myself. So I went and got some price qoutes to get it fixed. Well, most places qouted 1000 bucks to do the work, they won't just change the front and rear seals though. They buy a kit and rebuild the whole transmission and stuff. I know i can get a used TH350 for pretty cheap. I drive my truck everyday...so i'm looking for reliability and driveability. What would it take to change to an auto? Would it be worth it? or should i just have my muncie fixed?

thanks for the help

PD
