Exclamation Bennefits of leafspring suspension v.s. coil spring suspension

I am contemplating changing out the frame of my 1971 Chevy C10 truck from 2WD coil suspension to a 4wd frame with leafsprings front and rear. The reason is because I really need to have 4wd for the winter months and I'd also like for my truck to have larger tires and be lifted (4WD frame needed). I wanted to know any other bennefits that I might not be aware of and also if there any drawbacks or problems that I should look out for. Thank you for your feedback.
