need help for a clutch assembly

well heres the problem i ordered a mcleod hydraulic clutch unit (nice unit) with throwout bearing and slave cylinder.. where the stock clutch is mounted i have to cut into wat looks like the steering column support braces on the firewall. i still have the clutch bar from the pedal down the zbar but thats it. i just did a motor swap from a tired 350 to a 73-76 454 but the 454 still has the bolt holes for a zbar mount should i drill into the brace or pull out my trans and put the mechanical back in it.. and if i do put the mechanical back in where do i get a whole lower clutch assembly

any help would be very thankful
Neil
