Popping thru the carb.

In the last few weeks we have had threads on Popping thru the carb when you give the motor gas. Well I decided today to tear down the 350 that was in my 69 fleet I tore down for parts after driving it for a year. I found 2 cam lobes gone...just a circle of what used to be a cam lobe. Most of the cam lobes were worn not bad...but enough to not get the most out of a 350. The motor was clean inside for a motor that had 287,000 miles on it. The timing chain was looser then a you know what on Saturday night. The lifters...4 looked like a soup bowl on the bottom...and half of the rest had deep pits in the bottom of them. So for all the popping thru the carb people...change your cam and lifters and timing chain. This will fix your problem.

This is one cam lobe that was worn off. the next 3 pics.

One cam lobe almost gone
