Talking 305 carb to 350 tbi swap questions

Well I've decided I like to take the good running 350tbi 700r4 complete motor trans wiring -all of it
from my parts 88 burb and pull it all over to my 83 short bed

If anyone has done one of these please let me know how hard swapping the wiring
and fuel set up is
I'm pretty good at figuring things out but want to know if I will have to hack anything up to transfer it over or can I just carefully remove and replace
the components from one truck to the other

will the pump/pickup from the rear burb tank fit in the side mount
83 shorty tank or will I have to buy a side mount style pickup/pump?

Any help or comments welcome my friends
Mark
