need help with horn

Just bought a '67 stepside last week. The previous owner "installed" a Grant steering wheel (note quotes). The horn isn't hooked up. It works when tested, and the factory connector still exists next to the fuse box. My problem is twofold:
1. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out which wires in the steering column are supposed to end at the connector (which no longer exists) to plug into the horn wires.
2. I have no way of knowing whether the horn switch on the Grant wheel is good, or where the connection to the horn switch is made. Neither my Haynes or Chilton manuals mention the horn at all.
Please save me from a tacky aftermarket horn mounted in a place no horn should be!
