Electric drive on a mechanical water pump???

Im looking for a SWP for my BBC when I stumbled across this..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BBC-A...mZ250272265622

Anyone ever used something like this? I had never heard of it.

I realize the added drag on the alternator would negate most of the power saving. But, it would allow me to have the reliability of a mech pump with the advantage of an e-pump (running the pump and the fans between passes with the motor off). I could always carry a belt incase the electric motor died on me.

Thoughts?
