Louisville Streed Rod Meet WOW!!
Well I happened to be in Louisville this past week and the National Street Rod Meet was being held. What a treat! I sat outside the hotel Wed. night chewing the fat with street rodders. I wasn't planning on going to the fair grounds but my morning meeting was changed to late afternoon so I decided to pay the fairgrounds a visit. All I can say is WOW!! I was on overload. 12-14000 cars and trucks!! Lots of neat stuff. I visited the Cragar booth...they are changing to direct drill so by Nov. or Dec. the wheels will be direct bolt and not unilug fo our trucks. I looked for a 67-72 Street Rod shirt with no luck. I asked one vendor if they had any 67-72 truck shirts and they said no. The answer they gave was, "these trucks are not very popular yet" Interesting? But to be fair the street rod years ends in 1948. Found a great place in Piqua Ohio for doing ceramic coatings for headers. About $150 and if you have rusted chrome headers than about $200. I think 396BB told me about this place. I found to my surprise 3 bar spinners for my ralleys for $25. I saw one very nice 72 C10 SWB in the conference hall. Well thats enough. Just a great experience as this was my first Major Street Rod meet that I attended. What an experience. I made reservations for next year cause I just know that I have sales meetings scheduled that week.
