Anybody ever repaired a broken vent window?
I'm finally back to working on Old Yeller after nearly a two year hiatus and need some info on repairing my vent window. My originals still work fine but the trim was painted black and has worn down to a consitent rust. I found this good looking chrome pair on some doors I bought but alas the pivot on the bottom of the driver's side window was broken off.
I can canibalize the originals for the missing spring assembly but don't want to tear it apart unless I know this is going to work. I've never seen a functioning vent window torn all the way down and I don't know if there is a supposed to be a stud on the bottom of the window trim that's broken off or if the stud comes from the spring assembly and inserts into the bottom of the window trim?
